Leah and James wanted nothing more than a simple and intimate elopement. But, most of all, they wanted it at a place that meant so much to them, Santa Ynez Inn.
Their love story was also pretty simple and intimate:
It all started at their job! They both worked at the same company. James had been working there for 20+ years, while Leah had only been there for 2 years. During the companies annual summer party – Leah recalls seeing this “handsome bald guy” walk by. She started to become curious on who this guy was and began asking her coworkers about who he was.
Next thing she knows… her coworkers are introducing them to each other!
A small group of coworkers decided to carry the party on into the evening and grab some dinner. And, of course, they strategically set Leah next to this “handsome bald guy,” aka James. They hit it off immediately, but the conversation about their age arose, Leah being a few years older. Leah thought that James was no longer interested. While James was under the same impression from her.
Lucky for Leah, she had some of the BEST coworkers. They once again had her back and kicked their match making skills into action. They straightened out the miss-understanding and gave James her phone number.
The following weekend they had their first date! Now, almost 5 years later, they are happily MARRIED!
You two were such a pleasure to work with. I hope for many more years of love, laughter, and those happy tears. You both have come so far in life, and to find each other seems to be the cherry on top. Your love-story is something to be treasured! And, an encouragement to others that there is such a thing as “love at first sight.”
I wish you all the best. Thank you again for trusting me to capture your precious and intimate elopement!
The day begun with arriving at the beautiful Santa Ynez Inn. While Leah was pampered by Allure Salon, getting her hair and make-up done, James prepped in their elopement suite. Shortly after, I was able to capture a few of those moments.
I even was one of their witnesses on their marriage certificate! I felt so honored!
We swiftly made our way down to the library while capturing some very moody, yet vintage images. While also gathering the champagne, which was used in celebration after the “I do’s.” And, once again they included me in the celebration of their marriage by sharing a toast.
This was such an intimate and traditional elopement. So much so it only included the two of them and their officiant, Barbra Sherman. And, of course, I was there to capture the memories. The special surprise was the amazing customer service by the team at Santa Ynez Inn. Julio Peñuela, general manager of the Inn, took special care of Leah and James. He strived to meet every need. He went above and beyond to please them. He was very easy to work with and I know that I can speak for Barbra and myself, that he made the whole experience a pleasure!
The evening quickly passed, and the newly weds were so in-love and excited for their new adventures. We captured a few more portraits of the two of them MARRIED, and they were shortly off to chatting about their future and enjoying themselves.
Such a simple but beautiful elopement. The whole experience was a gift.
