Oceano Dunes is one of the dreamiest locations in Southern California for an engagement photoshoot. It is filled with pristine sand dunes that make your photos feel so romantic and intimate! For Amberly and Dominic, this was the perfect engagement session location for them! We also ventured over to Avila Beach , which was stunning during sunset!

Amberly and Dominic’s Love Story | A California Engagement

“We met on Hinge the dating app! I was super hesitant about online dating but I just so happened to be working a flight with someone who had just gotten engaged and she met her fiancé on Hinge! We sat in the back galley on a sit, and she helped me make my profile. The first person I saw, was my fiancé Dominic! It took me over a week to finally agree to a date in person because I was super nervous! (I watch Dateline.. ) we went on our first date Feb. 22, 2020 and we became official March 15, 2020! Right before Covid really hit! THANK GOD!”

The Proposal | Oceano Dunes Engagement

“On April 13, 2022 he asked me to marry him at Lake Las Vegas. He organized getting our family and friends together to come out and be there for the proposal. He also flew out to WA, a month prior, to ask my mom for her blessing. Something I had mentioned was important to me early on in us dating. He told me he had fancy dinner reservations and when we finally arrived, just before sunset, I realized I left my shoes at my place! (I always wear comfy slides in the car and put on my shoes later… I’ve never forgotten my shoes!) He was totally cool about it and said we would go back to my house and get them!

During the drive back home, I started thinking he may have had something extra planned because he was sweating a lot and I realized he made the reservation right around sunset. We ended up making it back just after sunset but it was still so perfect! There were rose petals, candle lights and MARRY ME block letters waiting by the lake. After he asked, all of our friends and family came running out. It was so special and although I’ll never live down forgetting my shoes, it was perfect! When I think about everything I have prayed about since a little girl, Dominic is everything and more! I have been so extremely blessed to have met the person that was truly meant for me and vice versa. Totally worth the wait and I can’t wait to marry my person!!”
